Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae 2.0 Out Today

final-fantasy-xv-episode-duscae_20150318235946The update to the demo was released around 11AM EDT today and it fixes a number of issues. Since the demo has come out, Square listened to what players had to say about it and decided to fix whatever issues we had. They even threw in some new features and added a boss fight.

Coming straight from the Nova Crystallis website, here is a look at the updates:

  • Added cooperation attacks that come from ally suggestions.
  • Guarding just before being hit by an enemy attack will no longer consume MP.
  • Evasive maneuver has been changed into a dodge roll, no longer consumes MP, and can be shifted into from various actions.
  • Moving the left stick during a consecutive attack will change the attack movement.
  • You can now charge great sword attacks by holding down the button.
  • The Shift (Warp) command has been changed into a long Circle button hold. If you hold Circle for a short period, you’ll perform a mid-range shift.
  • The areas you can warp to have been greatly increased.
  • Attack power, MP consumption, and more have been adjusted.
  • Camera turning speed and acceleration has been improved. The lock-on tracking has been improved, and target-switching has been simplified.
  • Camera can now be moved down during combat.
  • Party AI has been improved.
  • “Individual action quests” that are suggested by party members has been added.
  • The Catoblepas by the lake can now be fought.

It’s definitely interesting to see a demo get patched, but it shows that SquareEnix really cares about this game and wants to make it as perfect as they can. The patch is free for everyone that downloaded the demo via their voucher.

There is also a new Final Fantasy Type-0 patch that fixes motion blur and the super fast camera. I’ll definitely be getting back into that one.

Final Fantasy will be skipping E3 this year, but we will hear more about it at Gamescon in August.

Capcom Announces a New Mega Man Collection Today

Hot on the heels of the latest announcement for Mighty No. 9, Capcom reveals the Mega Man Legacy Collection today.

This enhanced collection will feature Mega Man 1-6 to introduce new players and feed the nostalgia of long time fans. It will also feature a Museum Mode and a Challenge Mode. Channeling straight from the Capcom UK YouTube page, the Challenge Mode remixes gameplay segments from all six games, with plenty of scaling difficulty objectives for experienced players to conquer yet serving as a good starting point for new players, too. Museum Mode contains a comprehensive collection of history, high-res art and original concept pieces – a mega treat for any fan of Mega Man and video game history.

It looks like Capcom hasn’t forgotten about Mega Man. The collection will be available later this summer as a digital download for PS4, Xbox One, and PC and on 3DS this Winter.

Ultra Street Fighter IV’s PS4 Update Has Gone Live

Sony has released the first update for USF4 today after it’s rocky start last week. According to the patch notes, the menu lag, Guile’s invisible Sonic Boom, Decapre’s teleport glitch, and more have been fixed.

Something that wasn’t mentioned, apparently, is the increase in input lag. Reported last week by Display Lag, the input lag had been increased by 2 frames when being compared to the lackluster PS3 version.

Other Ocean had promised they fixed the latency issue, but with last weeks release that was determined as false. This patch is a start, but I really hope that they are continuing to fix this game to deter upset fans over such a lousy port. Evo pulling this version from its upcoming competition wasn’t good for them either.
