The Geek Dojo Weekly

Hi, I’m Jeff and welcome to the The Geek Dojo Weekly for the week of April 8th 2021! This is a weekly video games newsletter featuring my top 5 stories of the week.

Monster Hunter Rise prints money, E3 is all online, 99 Pac-Men appear out of thin air? That’s a lot of Pac-Men. I assume that’s the plural of Pac-Man, but anyways let’s get into the news!

The Geek Dojo Weekly

Hi, I’m Jeff and welcome to the The Geek Dojo Weekly for the week of February 10th! This is a weekly video games news column featuring my top 5 stories of the week.

E3 is Back?

Via: VGC

The past few years have been rough for the Electronic Entertainment Expo. Data leaks, major publishers deciding not to show up, and the most recent issue, the covid 19 pandemic. Hopefully with the backing of publishers, The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) looks to bounce back in 2021 with an online only event on June 15-17.

E3 2017 Will Be Open to the Public

E3 is coming! Every gamer’s biggest dream is to go to E3 at some point in their lives. You can fulfill that dream this year. The media only event will be opening its doors to us mere muggles this year, but there is a catch. There will be a limited amount of tickets available to the public. Only about 15,000 consumer passes so you will have to act fast when they go on sale.

The E3 consumer passes will go on sale this Monday, February 13th at 12PM ET. Tickets will originally go on sale at a price of $150, but will jump up to $250 after the 13th. E3 is held at the Los Angeles Convention center every June. You can find more info on E3 at the website right here.

New Mass Effect Andromeda Trailer

thegeekdojo.net

Bioware really didn’t have anything to show off for the upcoming sci-fi epic. They say that we will get more information this fall so look forward to that.

The new trailer is nice though. It really gives you the feel that Bioware is really going back to the roots of Mass Effect when it comes to exploring. There are even a couple of scenes featuring the Mako! That’s enough to get me excited, really. Check out the trailer below.

Mass Effect Andromeda is expected to launch March of 2017.

PS4 is Getting an Exclusive Spider-Man Game

thegeekdojo.net

The game is being developed by Insomniac Games, whose resume includes Ratchet and Clank, and Sunset Overdrive.

In the trailer, Peter has a new suit with a white spider on his torso. Initially I did not like it, but it has grown on me rather quickly. Other than the trailer teaser, there is not much information on the game at this time. The fact that I know this exist is enough for me though. I have been dreaming of a good Spider-Man game for years now. It was definitely a surprise to see at the Sony press conference. Check out the trailer below.

The New God of War is Indeed Moving to Norse Mythology

thegeekdojo.net

Rumors had been floating around for a while now. People did not quite get it and why Kratos would still be alive, but it is indeed happening and it looks amazing.

It almost seems like it’s going to be a reboot of some sort. This is the 4th game in the franchise, but the title is not God of War 4, it’s just God of War. With that being said, I think this new foray into Norse mythology is more of a “what if” Kratos was put in a different environment.

The demo showed off at the Sony PlayStation presser features a bearded Kratos teaching his son how to be a man. Check out the trailer below.
