Final Fantasy IX Coming to PC and Smart Phones

thegeekdojo.net

Square Enix announced today that one of the best Final Fantasies is coming to PC and smart phones sometime in 2016.

Square promises new features like, “high-definition graphics, newly added achievements, auto-save, high speed mode, and several game boosting features,” similar to the other ports of FFVII and FFVIII.

There is no word on a western release, but it’s safe to assume that it will make it to the U.S. just like the Final Fantasy ports before it. Check out the trailer below for a look at the high res textures.

Kojima Explains Why He Chose to Partner With Sony

Kojima explained his reasoning in a recent exclusive interview with IGN. It all boils down to familiarity. “We know each other well,” he says. “I feel like this is an environment where I will be able to make something and feel comfortable.” Considering what he went through at Konami, I’m sure really appreciates that feeling.

Hideo Kojima has developed a strong bond with Sony for over a decade now. He even mentions the trust he has developed with Sony over the years and how they have helped him with his global recognition. “With Sony PlayStation, they make their content globally. It’s thanks to Sony that I was able to make a splash in the global market.”

Check out the interview below to hear Kojima speak on it himself.

Kojima officially left Konami this past Wednesday. His new company, Kojima Productions, is already underway and he has confirmed that he is working on a new exclusive project for the PlayStation 4 and PC.

Twitter is embracing the social media aspect of gaming by filling its first ever position dedicated to gaming.

YouTube’s former head of gaming content, Rodrigo Velloso, takes the helm of director of gaming partnerships at Twitter. Velloso will be working with gaming content creators for better use of the platform.

This could be really good for Twitter and for gamers. Twitter now is a good platform for gaming content creators, but with a lot more dedication from Twitter itself, this could be a really great thing for gamers to make more connections and talk about the things we love.
