As reported by VG247, their sources have reported that Bandai Namco will announce Dark Souls 3 at E3. The good news is Hidetaka Miyazaki is returning to direct it.

Miyazaki has also directed Demon Souls, Dark Souls, and the PlayStation exclusive Bloodborne. Dark Souls 2 was directed by Tomohiro Shibuya and Yui Tanimura while Miyazaki supervised them.

There not much much else know other than that. We shall get more information when E3 rolls around.

Humble Bundle Crosses Over to Consoles

The wonderful folks over at Humble Bundle have partnered up with Nintendo on the latest offering of indie games. You can pay what you want to get Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition, Mighty Switch Force, and Woah Dave! If you pay more than the average you unlock 3 more games: OlliOlli, The Fall, and Moon Chronicles. Pay more than $10 you get everything aforementioned, Stealth Inc. 2, and Steam World Dig. That’s quite a few games for $10 dollars!

The best part about Humble Bundle is you have a choice in deciding where your money goes. You can give all of the money to Humble Bundle’s featured non profit organization Code.org, give all your money to the game developers, or portion it out between developers and charity.

This deal gives hope that Humble Bundle will also work with Sony and Microsoft in the future for more awesome indie deals. If you have a Nintendo system head over to Humble Bundle to support a great cause and get some great games.

3 Reasons To Play Guacamlee Super Turbo Championship Edition

super-turbo

Guacamelee is one of my favorite games of all time. Definitely one of my top 10 favorite games. Why you ask? Well I have a lot of good things I could say about this metroidvania beat ’em up, so I broke down all of my good things into 3 points.

1. It’s Super Fun

They story of Guacamelee takes place in this Mexican influenced fantasy world and you play as a character named Juan. After he witnesses this evil guy named Calaca kidnap El Presidente’s daughter, he comes across a luchador mask that turns him into sort of a super hero. With your new found powers, you travel across the different dimensions of Mexico to save her.

Guacamelee features a simple yet deep combo system that expands as you learn more moves throughout the game. The game challenges you to use each move you learn through the puzzling environment and the challenging enemies that come your way.

Multiplayer is also included in the game. It was first introduced in Gold Edition, but with STCE you can play with up to 3 other players for some extra co-op fun!

If you want to play in style, you can do that too. Guacamelee has a dozen different costumes that are available to buy with in game currency. The costumes all have different abilities that can change how you play the game.

Make sure you catch all of the video game references throughout the world too.

2. The Main Character Is A Person Of Color

Which is a pretty big deal to me. As a person of color myself, it is awesome to see the main character and supporting cast all be people of color. People of color don’t get enough representation as it is and usually get pigeonholed into a stereotypical role.

3. It’s Free On PlayStation Plus This Month

Which is just the icing on the cake. If you have a PS4, then there is no reason not to get this game. As long as you keep your Plus account up you can play as much as you want. Get it while you still can because time is almost up.

Guacamelee is developed by DrinkBox and is available on PS4, PS3, WiiU, 3DS, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.

Ultra Street Fighter IV Has a Rocky Start on PS4

Well it’s really too common of a story these days. Almost every game that comes out has some kind of issue of some sort. Players are reporting some lag in offline game modes, net code issues online, menu lag and sound bugs.

From my initial impression, I haven’t had any problems really. I’ve definitely noticed the laggy menus. The only sound bug I’ve noticed is the announcer didn’t say the name of the winner after I defeated my friend. I’ve had a little bit of online lag mainly due to the opponents connection, but every other match I’ve played has been great.

Other that those troubles, the gameplay runs just fine. The game feels fantastic at 1080p 60fps. The color and textures look great as well with the graphical upgrade of being on PS4.

As of now, there is no update on a new patch for the game, but hopefully there is one sooner that later. Like before Evo, maybe?
