Twitter is embracing the social media aspect of gaming by filling its first ever position dedicated to gaming.
YouTube’s former head of gaming content, Rodrigo Velloso, takes the helm of director of gaming partnerships at Twitter. Velloso will be working with gaming content creators for better use of the platform.
This could be really good for Twitter and for gamers. Twitter now is a good platform for gaming content creators, but with a lot more dedication from Twitter itself, this could be a really great thing for gamers to make more connections and talk about the things we love.

DICE’s development director tweeted recently that he will be moving on to the project since Star Wars Battlefront is now done.
Now that we’ve shipped Battlefront and a part of the team continues to work on it, I am moving on to another project, the next Battlefield..
— Dan Vaderlind (@mrVaderdan) December 11, 2015
Work is still being done for Battlefront DLC and such, but the team will now start to focus on the next true Battlefield installment.
Others on twitter, including myself, have already been a bit concerned. DICE has handled the Battlefield series pretty well for the most part aside from Battlefield 4 being a bit buggy, but you just have to wonder if it will be a true Battlefield game and not super casual like Battlefront is. Only time will tell.
The next Battlefield is slated for a holiday 2016 release.
